Ingredients

3 oz Gordon's London Dry Gin
1 oz Smirnoff Vodka
1/2 oz Lillet Blanc

Instructions

Chill cocktail glass. Using a vegetable peeler, and starting at the end, peel a lemon twist all the way around the lemon until you've peeled half the lemon. The twist should resemble a corkscrew. Twist part of this on the glass (you can see the lemon oil spray if you look), rub the rim with the skin side, and toss into the cocktail glass. Shake the gin, vodka, and Lillet over ice. Strain into the glass.

Notes

James Bond came up with this drink while gambling in Casino Royale, Ian Flemming's first James Bond novel (and now a movie). Bond ordered Gordon's gin, but he didn't specify the vodka. As an homage to the later movies where Bond often drinks Smirnoff, I've specified Smirnoff for the vodka. You may substitute another brand, but by all means, don't use the flavored stuff.

Bond named the drink after one of his love interests in Casino Royale, Vesper Lynd.
