Gold, almost amber in color. Pungent aromas of pineapple, burnt orange peel, and brown sugar. There is also lemon curd, key lime pie, and meringue in there, too. Opens on the palette somewhat restrained, but quickly blossoms into very nice banana, grapefruit, and tropical fruit flavors. The agave stands out well from a balanced oak structure (like a reposado should). Nice heat and spice on a long finish of about 90 seconds or so. Great stuff that balances the agave and oak nicely. Tasted 8/15/2006.
Notes
"With Tequila aging in mind, our white-oak barrels have been carefully designed and constructed to house the spirit for six months, giving it a balance of agave and mild wood flavors." - From the manufacturer's website.
