Booker's True Barrel Bourbon
Review
93
Amber color. Fairly intense praline, cinnamon, apple, and vanilla aromas. Closed at first, then opens quickly with big alcohol heat, orange peel, and spice (or is that more heat?). Transitions into oaky warmth. The corn is evident here. The finish is big (high alcohol level probably helps here) and dry with black pepper notes. Lasts 1-2 minutes. For this proof, the heat is balanced, but intense. You may prefer to open it up with some spring water. Tasted 4/11/2007.
Notes
"In 1988, Booker Noe introduced his own signature bourbon, Booker's True Barrel Bourbon. Inspired by a 200-year-old tradition, Booker's is the only bourbon bottled straight-from-the-barrel, uncut and unfiltered. First created as a holiday gift for his special friends, Booker's whiskey was so well-received that he decided to make it available to bourbon lovers worldwide; much to the joy of spirit connoisseurs everywhere." - From the manufacturer's website.
