Pale straw color. You would consider this a white rum but it does have a bit of color--no doubt from sitting on oak. Quite inviting nose--lime, falernum, almond, and ginger notes. Very clean flavor, with more lime and almond notes. Some vanilla as well. The oak has worked some marvels here. Fairly long finish that evolves into a pleasant burn. This might be a sugarcane rum from the flavor, but the bottle doesn't tell. Quite striking. Good luck finding it as it comes from Cuba. Look for it in Mexico. Note - the rum tasted is an old bottle that is 70 proof. Tasted 6/19/2006.

Description

"Havana Club 3 AƱos is the result of blending aged and aromatic sugarcane aguardientes with extra light sugarcane distillates to produce a selection of young rums. This batch of rums is then allowed to rest in white oak barrels after which the Maestro Ronero chooses the best barrels and blends the final three-year-old rum, which is again set to rest, then filtered and bottled." - From the manufacturer's website.
