Dark amber in color. An ebullient nose of toffee, candied pecans, orange peel, honey, and cloves. Opens on time (not subdued). The aromas carry through onto the palate, along with nuts and bread pudding, then tailing into some slightly unbalanced heat--very slightly astringent. Medium finish of 30 seconds or so. Tasted 4/11/2007.

Description

"Since its creation by Edouard Martell in 1912, Cordon Bleu has become a genuine legend. Its taste, marked predominantly by 'eaux-de-vie' from the Borderies area, and its authentic bottle, unchanged since the beginning, make it a classic among great cognacs. A cognac with a unique character combining body and great balance." - From the manufacturer's website.
