Mahogany color. Heavy, pungent aromas of spearmint, orange peel, and rosemary. Subtle on the palate, then blossoms into a medium body with raisin notes and ample acidity. Really quite dry for an aged rum, and much drier than the aromas suggest. On the back of the palate, light oak and possibly beachwood notes tailing with floral, herbal, and almond flavors. A lean, dry style. Note that this rum is actually 15 years old--the 21 on the label refers to the 21st century. Tasted 10/12/2007.
