Aged Agricole Rum
Saint James Royal Ambre Rum

Rust-orange color. Smoked sugar cane, orange sugar, and Amaretto aromas. Actually, it smells like a freshly prepared bourbon Old Fashioned. Measured opening on the palate--then broadens into a light to medium body with date, light sugar cane, and soft floral notes along with a silky texture. Then the heat and acidity kick in nicely with mineral notes. The finish continues for about a minute or so. A very pleasant agricole rum, with mild cane flavors. Tasted 8/17/2008.
Notes
Since 1765, Saint James has adhered faithfully to the traditions of Martinique's agricultural rums, directly distilled from pure sugar cane juice. On its own plantations in Sainte Marie, Saint James distills and watches over its rums, vigilant to protect the exceptional quality which has ensured its global reputation.
Saint James offers a large variety of agricultural rums: white rums, fresh and fruity, amber rum with its original bouquet and subtle, rich and harmonious older rums.
Unique for its fruitiness, and rounded by two years of aging, Saint James Royal Amber can be sipped by itself...
