Copper/amber color. Grass, orange, raisin, dark brown sugar, and caramel aromas spill out of the glass. Round, silky open, then intense dried fruit, mincemeat, pecans, dates, and baking spice flavors. This is a big wave of mostly dried fruit. The fruit lingers and we slowly evolve into some oak/vanilla notes and slight Campari-like bitterness. Medium length prickly, yet still sappy finish. This is a precocious dried fruit and nut bonanza. Tasted 10/7/2008.
